GCM Social Work Specialist

The Cantonal Police of Graubünden's specialized Cantonal Threat Management Service (GCM GR Specialized Service) operates as an interdisciplinary team in the proactive protection against violence in the Canton of Graubünden. The GCM specialized service assumes a coordinating and advisory role and, together with relevant partner organizations, helps prevent serious and targeted acts of violence by promptly identifying warning signs as well as professionally assessing and defusing dangerous situations.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for a GCM social work specialist, starting on a date to be agreed upon.
Responsibilities
- Expertise in the professional handling of dangerous situations as well as early identification of escalation potentials to prevent serious violent crimes
- Preparation of risk assessments according to scientific standards
- Management of GCM operational cases in compliance with legal directives and the GCM process
- Ensuring cooperation in the operational management of cases with cantonal and extra-cantonal authorities and institutions to prevent serious violent crimes
- Coordination of measures between various authorities aimed at protecting threatened persons, authorities, and institutions
- Networking activities, primarily in the social work sector
- Participation in specific technical bodies as well as working and project groups in the threat management sector
What we expect from you
- Completed university studies in social work
- Several years of professional experience working with people who are victims of violence or prone to violence
- Knowledge of risk assessment and threat management (e.g., Octagon or similar tools)
- Good knowledge of legal foundations in criminal law, criminal procedure, and victim protection
- Experience in inter-authority cooperation and coordination of complex cases
- Ability to handle stressful situations, manage conflicts, make decisions, and self-confidence even in challenging situations
- Strong communication and networking skills as well as the ability to work solution-oriented within interdisciplinary teams
- Analytical thinking, structured working method, and sense of responsibility
- Willingness to pursue continuing education in threat and risk management
- Excellent oral and written German skills; knowledge of foreign languages is an advantage
