The Migration Office operates daily in the exciting political environment of all migration issues. We are responsible for foreigner permits, enforce the federal foreigner and asylum law, issue biometric Swiss passports and foreigner identity cards, and provide care and integration in our asylum centers.
The Migration Office is looking for a
Maintenance Specialist (m/f/d)
for the Kreuzacker center with an integration character in Wil starting March 1, 2026, or by agreement
Workload: 80-100%
Workplace: Wil
What to expect
- Responsibility for the maintenance and upkeep of the entire property and its surroundings
- Carrying out repair work on buildings and furniture as well as maintaining the workshop
- Ensuring the functionality of technical systems (e.g., heating)
- Organizing and controlling waste disposal and environmental management
- Leading and supervising employment programs for residents
- Conveying work culture and professional instruction within the programs
- Cross-departmental collaboration in the center's operations
What distinguishes you
- Completed vocational training as a Maintenance Specialist EFZ or in a comparable craft/technical profession
- Manual skills and technical understanding of building maintenance (e.g., heating, sanitary, electrical)
- Independent and structured working style as well as flexibility with changing tasks
- Teamwork skills and enjoyment in working with people from different cultures
- Organizational talent, resilience, and responsibility for occupational safety
- Good IT skills and a category B driving license
- Ideally: experience in supervising employees or further training in facility services
