The opportunity:
As a Domain expert, you will join Transformer R&D team, part of the Technology organization of business unit Transformers, contributing to the successful roadmap execution defined for your team.
In this role you will be responsible for supporting and leading Research and Development projects related to Transformer. Your focus will be contribution towards engineering and diagnostics around transformer service portfolio, best practices collection, standardization and coordination of improvements within Transformer Service HUBs and local units together with Technology Centers and Research teams.
How you will make an impact:

Run standardization projects, propose and develop new engineering and life cycle assessment concepts around new service, and simulate their expected performance in real pilots.

Organize prototyping and testing activities to validate new / existing transformer services.

Making standard policies, instructions, training material to ensure the effective implementation of the targeted processes from engineering, quality and knowledge transfer standpoint.

Provide support to other team member as well as local units when needed (operations, engineering, product management, product marketing, ...)

Participate in, and assist team members in a variety of more complex operations activities.

Global collaboration with scientists of Hitachi Energy Research team and Technology Centers, Technology Managers and Engineers from the various GPGs (Service / PT / DT).
Your background:

Master’s degree in engineering with a major in electrical engineering, physics, or similar.

More than 5 years of proven experience within electrical design (dielectric, magnetic and thermal calculation), condition assessment and testing of power transformers is desired.

Experience with advance numerical simulations (e.g. magnetic or dielectric simulations), proficiency in use of commercial simulations tools (Ansys, Infolytica …) shall be well valued.

Proven experience within transformer condition assessment and transformer testing is required.

Excellent abilities in teamwork in international teams with excellent interpersonal skills.

A high level of self-motivation.

A collaborative, structured, problem-solving, self-driven, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.

Fluent spoken and written English. Other languages will be an advantage.
