Our Real Estate team comprises the areas of Valuation, Transactions and Strategy & Transformation. Most of our clients are corporates with an international real estate portfolio, institutional investors with investment properties of various usage types as well as public institutions. We are a dynamic, innovative, and collegial team that, as a unit of one of the largest global consulting firms, has the privilege to work on an endless number of exciting projects with the brightest minds of the world's most influential companies. To support the expansion of our team, we are looking for a Manager in Valuation Real Estate in Zurich. Embark on your next journey and join our Real Estate team to help solve exciting problems daily!
Your key responsibilities
- Oversee and develop current valuation projects while generating new business and actively engaging in go-to-market activities.
- Apply technical and business knowledge to ensure high-quality results for all clients.
- Participate in real estate advisory engagements, including financial analyses, cash flow modeling, property/portfolio modeling, analytical model reviews, market due diligence, asset valuations, real estate appraisals, and appraisal reviews.
- Manage engagements involving various property types, including multi-family residential, office, retail, hotel, warehouse, industrial, mixed-use, infrastructure, and special-use properties.
- Conduct market information research and market studies, analyze real estate documents (including site/building plans, leases, appraisals, and mortgage underwriting/lending documents), and prepare comprehensive reports.
- Participate in sales and marketing pursuit opportunities.
Skills and attributes for success
- A bachelor's or master's degree in real estate, engineering (ETH/EPFL), architecture, economics, or an MBA.
- 6-10 years of relevant working experience, with a minimum of 4 years in the field of real estate valuations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English are essential; proficiency in French is highly advantageous.
- Profound knowledge of the Swiss real estate market and strong networking with major Swiss real estate owners, including institutional investors, banks, insurance companies, and pension funds.
- Experience in creating complex financial models (cash flow/property/portfolio modeling) such as discounted cash flows (DCF), net present value (NPV), and real estate cap rates, along with familiarity with real estate legislation and fiscal issues.
- Background in real estate valuation, acquisition due diligence, asset management, finance, or market research.
- Ability to work across different areas, including M&A and Transaction Support.
- An innovative, dynamic, and outgoing personality. Memberships in professional associations like RICS would be a significant advantage.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with real estate databases and financial modeling is preferred.
