Legal Internship
The Office for Waste, Water, Energy and Air (AWEL) is the cantonal office for all areas of technical environmental law. We ensure the protection and sustainable use of natural resources in the Canton of Zurich. As a supervisory authority, we ensure the supply of clean drinking water and electrical energy, the environmentally sound disposal of waste and wastewater, as well as protection against flooding. The Legal Department supports the specialist departments in all legal matters.
What to expect
During your internship, you will conduct legal clarifications for the Legal Department as well as the specialist departments of AWEL. You will edit appeal and complaint responses. In addition, you will support the lawyers in drafting and reviewing orders and other documents. If possible, you will also assist us with legislative projects. You will gain insight into the diverse range of activities of a large environmental office.
What we expect
The internship lasts six months and can be extended to twelve months. It is aimed at university graduates (MLaw) who want to apply and deepen the knowledge acquired during their studies in administrative and environmental law. During the internship, you will also gain insight into various other areas of law. You have a quick grasp and are characterized by an independent, very careful, and organized way of working. Very good German skills are required.
