We are seeking to recruit a Business Oversight Officer for our Madrid office.
Your role
- Design, review, execute and analyse L1S controls within the Compliance Monitoring Programme, including onboarding and client activity controls, and propose remediation initiatives for any deficiencies identified.
- Manage reporting and communication with regulatory authorities (SEPBLAC, CNMV, AEPD), including DMO reporting, suspicious activity submissions, statistical reports and responses to local authority inquiries.
- Conduct KYC updates, thematic and PEP review campaigns, personal account dealing controls and analysis of escalated transactions.
- Support the COO in preparing, reviewing and implementing procedures and directives, resolving operational issues, coordinating with other Operations teams and preparing materials for Executive Committees.
- Maintain the Follow-Up Compliance Report and assist with compliance activities such as periodic L2 controls, training plan coordination and regulatory monitoring.
- Provide support for legal topics, including analysis of claims and coordination of specific legal issues.
- Participate in user testing, reviews and design of internal tools for the Compliance Monitoring Programme.
- Assist the Head of Europe with agenda management and the CEO with monthly business reporting, meetings, strategy analysis and business development activities.
- Support the Front Office with project reviews, updates, tool development and internal validation of specific deals (e.g., transfers, credits, guarantees).
Your profile
- University degree or business school.
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position or within project management in the banking industry.
- Expert user of common IT applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, etc.)
- Fluent in Spanish and English.
- Strong leadership and organisation skills and a keen sense of initiative.
- Independent and solutions-oriented.
- Confident in engaging with all levels of management.
- Solid knowledge of wealth management & regulations, Spanish tax matters knowledge would be a plus.
- Good understanding of IT and banking operations.
- Effective communicator and decision-maker.
