The Pastoral Area Region Willisau is looking for a candidate starting August 1, 2026, or by arrangement

Head of the Religious Education Department at the Pastoral Area level (15%) combined with 1–4 lessons of religious education in Willisau and/or Hergiswil (primary school and/or secondary level)

This employment opportunity can be combined with an existing workload at another location or serves as an entry into our pastoral area with further expansion in the coming years.

Your tasks as department head:

• Regular exchange with the church school contact persons (our main contacts for school administrations) in Menznau, Willisau, and Hergiswil and subsidiary support of these key persons on site.
• Personnel development:
• Managing all religious education teachers in the pastoral area: maintaining contact and conducting employee discussions
• Promoting exchange among all religious education teachers in the pastoral area, especially organizing regular training and observation visits for all religious education teachers in the pastoral area at appropriate intervals (the observations for 2025/26 and 2026/27 are externally organized)
• Contact person for the employing church authorities
• Strategic further development of the religious education offerings of the pastoral area, oriented towards LeRUKa, the strategic goals of the pastoral area concept, and in consultation with the pastoral area team and leadership
• Communication:
• Contributing topics related to religious education on the website and parish newsletter
• Communicative representation of the Religious Education Department internally and externally
• Member of the pastoral area team

We expect:

• Own experience in religious education and church affiliation
• Enjoyment of leadership tasks
• Affinity for strategic and conceptual thinking
• Clear, reliable communication internally and externally
• Willingness to innovate and service orientation
• Taking on 1–4 lessons of religious education in primary and/or secondary school in one or two parishes of the pastoral area.
