Since 1921, the student body (SHSG) has been the official representation of all students at the University of St.Gallen. Its area of activity is based on two pillars. On the one hand, it represents the interests of the students towards all university stakeholders and on the other hand, it provides a wide range of services related to studies. The services include, among others, the catering establishments [ad]hoc, Meeting Point and SQR-Bar, the quiet room, the student newspaper prisma, and the exchange programs of the International department.
Your tasks
- You are responsible for the operational as well as the business management continuation of the student-run Gastro area locations Ad[hoc], MeetingPoint and the SQR-Bar
- You shape and ensure the correct financial management of the Gastro area (accounting and monthly reporting) to discuss strategic implications with the deputy managing director and the site managers (e.g., expansion of partnerships with student associations)
- You represent the Gastro area towards third parties (e.g., university administration or suppliers)
- You are responsible for monitoring hygiene regulations and food safety (according to the canton of St. Gallen)
- You are responsible for the accuracy of all information in the annual financial statement and the annual budget
- Additionally, you are responsible for infrastructure maintenance as well as marketing, reservation, and purchasing coordination (in cooperation with the site managers)
Your profile
- You have prior experience in gastronomy
- You have a recognized further education that entitles you to manage a gastronomic business (host license).
- Ideally, you bring gastronomic management experience, e.g., as head of a bar or as a restaurant manager or comparable positions
- You have very good German and English skills
