Senior Physician in the Maternity Sector for the Anesthesia Service

The Anesthesiology Service of the Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is offering a senior physician position at 80%–100% for its maternity sector, with a start date of July 1, 2026, or to be agreed upon.

Context

The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. In collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a major role in care, research, and education.

The Anesthesiology Service provides support, monitoring, and vital function assistance to patients in crisis situations, during resuscitations, surgical interventions, diagnostic examinations, as well as in postoperative pain management.

Its activity covers all age groups, from neonatology to geriatrics, in scheduled or emergency contexts, during operative and immediate postoperative phases.

Mission

• You ensure specialized anesthetic care, particularly in gynecology-obstetrics, as well as participation in the general activity of the service
• You supervise physicians in training and contribute to the management of medical and nursing teams
• You participate in the on-call service of senior physicians
• You actively contribute to pre- and postgraduate teaching
• You participate in clinical projects and develop an academic activity within the sector and the service.

Profile

• You ensure specialized anesthetic care, particularly in gynecology-obstetrics, as well as participation in the general activity of the service
• You supervise physicians in training and contribute to the management of medical and nursing teams
• You participate in the on-call service of senior physicians
• You actively contribute to pre- and postgraduate teaching
• You participate in clinical projects and develop an academic activity within the sector and the service.
