About the job
The civil child and adult protection authority ensures the protection of endangered children and adults. It is responsible for the relatives of the five Burger communities in the canton of Bern, which provide social assistance, as well as for the thirteen societies and guilds of Bern.
From 01.05.2026 or by arrangement, we are looking for you as
Legal Intern
Bern | 80% - 100% | limited for 6 months - 12 months
Are you interested in child and adult protection law and want to apply your legal knowledge in practice? Then become part of our team and gain exciting insights into the Civil Child and Adult Protection Authority.
The legal internship is recognized as an administrative internship (usually 6 months) towards the 18-month practical training for the bar exam.

- Draft decisions and correspondence in child and adult protection law
- Organize and record hearings
- Prepare and record authority meetings
- Clarify legal questions
- General support of the social legal service

- Completed studies in law (Bachelor/Master)
- Interest in child and adult protection and interdisciplinarity
- Enjoy working with people, combined with goal orientation, flexibility, and organizational talent
- Strong communication skills – written and oral, in German
