Job Description
As Senior Key Account Manager Digital Advertising, you are responsible for the strategic development and growth of our digital advertising business in Switzerland. You act as a central partner for leading media agencies and key clients, develop tailored, data-driven advertising solutions, and build long-term, trusting partnerships.
With your sense for market trends, cross-platform campaigns, and programmatic strategies, you position SMG as a leading partner in the digital advertising market.
Your Mission
As Senior Key Account Manager at SMG Advertising, you play a crucial role in successfully presenting and selling the advertising opportunities of SMG Advertising to the Swiss advertising market.
In this position, you have the opportunity to position yourself externally and internally as an advertising expert in sales, to help shape our advertising portfolio, and at the same time contribute to our overarching goals and mission.

Specifically, you will work on the following tasks:
- Strategic support, development, and expansion of key accounts and top agencies at decision-maker level.
- Proactive identification of market and growth potentials in the digital advertising environment – focusing on data-based and programmatic solutions.
- Development of tailored, integrated marketing concepts across all SMG marketplaces (Awareness / Lead / Conversion).
- Responsibility for revenue and profit targets, including forecasting, budget planning, and performance controlling in close coordination with management.
- In-depth market and competitor monitoring to identify and leverage trends in programmatic, data targeting, and online marketing early on.
- Close collaboration with internal stakeholders (Ad Operations, Data Analytics, Product Management, Marketing) to develop innovative advertising products.
Qualifications
You bring the following
- Several years of experience (5+ years) in key account management or consulting agencies/clients in the digital advertising market – ideally in an environment with a strong focus on innovation and technology.
- You are both a salesperson and consultant, first trying to understand your client and their business and then knowing how to sell the right product.
- Deep understanding of digital advertising ecosystems; buzzwords like "DCR", "DMP" etc. are not foreign to you.
- Proven success in increasing sales, acquiring new customers, and building long-term client and agency partnerships.
- Strategic and analytical thinking combined with a pronounced hands-on mentality and strong implementation skills.
- Degree in business administration, marketing, communication, or comparable education; further training in digital marketing or eCommerce is an advantage.
- Languages: German (native), English (fluent), French is an advantage.
