About the job
The surface finishing department is the heart of frame production:

For this team, we are looking for a trained professional who masters the craft from the ground up
and enjoys working on demanding individual pieces.
Your Tasks
- Staining, glazing and painting of solid wood and veneer frames as well as object parts
- Proper sanding preparation: preliminary sanding, intermediate sanding, edge and profile processing
- Colour matching and sample production according to customer specifications – including reproducing and supplementing existing surfaces
- Processing of water- and solvent-based systems, oils, waxes and shellac; application with spray gun, by hand and with brush
- Retouching, repairs and refurbishment of existing frames and objects
- Operation, cleaning and maintenance of spray booth, extraction, drying and sanding equipment
- Quality control and final inspection of surfaces before handover to the framing department
- Material disposition, storage of paints and stains as well as compliance with regulations on occupational safety, hazardous substances and disposal
- Close cooperation and scheduling with carpentry and framing departments.
Your Profile
- Completed apprenticeship as industrial, furniture or wood painter, painter with focus on wood or carpenter with proven surface experience
- Several years of experience in wood surface treatment, especially in staining and handling glazes
- A keen eye for colour tone, gloss level, texture and surface appearance
- Clean, precise and independent working with a high quality standard
- Careful, respectful handling of high-quality customer objects and artworks
- Reliability, team spirit and willingness to pull through during peak times
- Very good German language skills, spoken and written
- Experience with leaf and metal leaf gilding, with historic surfaces or work of museum quality
What We Offer
- Varied work on unique pieces instead of series parts – no order is the same as another
- A well-coordinated, small team with short decision-making paths and flat structures
- Well-equipped workshop and paint shop with modern machinery and materials
- Great creative freedom in your own specialist discipline and the opportunity to help shape workflows
- Above-average employment conditions and social benefits
- Professional induction in Zurich at Studio Arte AG until approx. March 2027, thereafter permanently at EMSA Rahmenleisten AG in Villmergen
