Lecturer Hotel Communication Vocational Studies (Wednesdays/Thursdays 3 to 9 lessons) 10 - 30%The General Vocational School Zurich is the competence center for the professions of gastronomy and hospitality. In addition, it is responsible for the basic education of various other professions. With around 2,200 students and over 100 teachers, it is one of the larger vocational schools in the canton of Zurich. At the start of the 2026/27 school year in August 2026, we are looking to strengthen the Hotel Communication department by hiring a lecturer for vocational studies for a workload of three to nine weekly lessons. The employment is according to the Secondary School and Vocational School Teacher Ordinance as a lecturer.
Main tasks
- Planning, preparation, execution, and follow-up of lessons in vocational studies (hotel communication) according to the curriculum and internal school syllabus
- Collaboration in the department to further develop the teaching
Your profile
- Solid practical experience in hospitality
- Completed training in Hotel & Restaurant Management HF or equivalent studies at a university of applied sciences
- Willingness to undertake vocational studies teacher training as a part-time activity in the medium term
- Open-minded, team-oriented, communicative, and committed personality with strong social skills
- Independent, flexible working style with high initiative
