Digital Product Specialist, Communications Strategy and Coordination

The World Economic Forum, committed to improving the state of the world, is the international organisation for public-private cooperation.

The Global Communications Group is the central Forum team dedicated to communications with the public, media, stakeholders and staff in relation to the Forum’s mission. Through multiple channels, the Group is responsible for communicating the work of the Forum and its constituents, reaching, growing, engaging and inspiring diverse and interested audiences.

Why are we recruiting

The Group is expanding and consolidating its strategy. It is composed of four key functions: Communication Strategy and Coordination, Public Engagement, Media Engagement, and Stakeholder and Staff Engagement.

The Website team, as part of the Strategy and Coordination function is responsible for managing the Forum’s website channel and works across three key workstreams: branding and audience experience, audience growth, and content management.

Reporting Lines and Interactions

The Website team is looking for a Digital Product Specialist to contribute to the successful product management and implementation of the website strategies across the three key workstreams.

This role will report to the Digital Product Lead for the Forum’s website team, collaborating closely within our Strategy and Coordination function in refining and implementing strategies that resonate with our global audience and advance our mission to improve the state of the world while prioritizing an intuitive audience experience on our website.

This role also offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects at the intersection of technology, communication, business and global impact, fostering public-private cooperation and shaping agendas across the globe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the implementation of product briefs with development and design teams

  • Produce consistent and accurate product documentation

  • Write product briefs under the guidance of the Digital Product Lead

  • Gather and report back on business needs to inform the product roadmap

  • Engage internal stakeholders in product trainings and contribute to the communication of new product features

  • Co-develop user research and testing to inform product decisions

  • Co-design product analytics to inform product decisions

  • Collaborate collegially with internal technology teams

  • Participate in the delivery of projects in line with website priorities

The successful candidate will be assessed on

  • Know-how of product management best practices and technological advancements with an eye for product usability and design

  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of the audience through qualitative as well as quantitative mechanisms

  • Sound understanding of data, specifically on changes in product usage over time

  • Good understanding of the business and industry landscape

  • Strong interest in the Forum’s mission and impact

  • Ability to take direction and adapt based on changing priorities and business landscape from the direct manager

  • Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail

  • Ability to navigate complex, dynamic and multicultural environments

  • A strong work ethic, a team-player attitude, and a genuine willingness to learn​


Required Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of work experience in product management are required with a preference for those working in content, media or marketing landscape

  • University degree in a computer science discipline, digital marketing, user experience, or other similar domains. Those who have completed digital accreditations or taken different routes to upskilling are welcome to apply

  • Capacity to manage workstreams, underpinned by excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

  • Ability to handle changing priorities and to re-plan effectively.

  • Proven ability to build positive, collaborative relationships.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Prior experience with product management tool Jira is required with a strong preference will be given to candidates with an understanding of agile development practices.

  • Prior experience with UX/design tools like Figma and analytics platforms like Google Analytics is a plus.

  • Fluency in English, with excellent written, digital, and verbal communication skills.
