SUSA, present from the first notes
SUISA is the cooperative of music authors and publishers. More than 44,000 composers, lyricists, and music publishers have organized themselves in this company founded in 1923. SUISA ensures that music can be used publicly and that rights holders are properly remunerated for these uses. With sister companies worldwide, it collects royalties for more than two million authors and publishers. About 200 employees work at SUISA between Zurich, Lausanne, and Lugano.SUISA connects creators and users of music. The Clients department takes care of music users and reconciles their interests with those of the authors by granting licenses for the use of music.
These activities motivate you
- Strategic and operational responsibility of the Members department
- Acquisition and affiliation of new members (authors, publishers)
- Monitoring of existing members
- Supervision of the management of work declarations and rights allocations
- Guarantee of identification and distribution of rights
- Interface with the legal department and development of distribution rules
- Responsibility for the central process, from licensing to distribution
- Active participation in the overall strategic development of SUISA
- Cross-functional coordination and collaboration with all relevant entities
- Integration of operational and market-oriented perspectives in overall management
- Ability to design organizational changes in collaboration with the management team
- Co-responsibility for effective decision-making processes within the Management
- Representation of SUISA in external bodies and with relevant stakeholders, if necessary
Your profile
- Extensive experience in copyright law in the Swiss and international context
- Experience in the music field (e.g., in publishing or music management) is a major asset.
- Desired knowledge in collective rights management
- Good IT skills (ideally also in the field of work databases and CRM systems) and a keen sense of digital processes and their optimization
- Very good business management knowledge and a taste for innovation and continuous optimization
- Having a good network in the Swiss cultural scene (and ideally also internationally) is an advantage.
- Very good language skills in German, French, and English and, ideally, in other national languages
- Proven experience in leadership (strategic and operational) and cooperative management style with good delegation skills
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent analytical and conceptual skills and, ideally, proven change management skills
- Strong service orientation and decision-making skills
