The Birsfelden municipal administration is a modern service company that provides a variety of tasks for around 10,500 residents.
In the Operations Maintenance department, we are looking for a motivated person for the Green Maintenance/Cemetery team from April 1, 2026, or by arrangement, temporarily for one year (with the option of permanent employment)
Landscape Gardener / Green Maintenance Employee (80-100%, m/f/d)
The employees in the Green Maintenance team provide various services related to the maintenance of green spaces, the cemetery, and various playgrounds and sports fields.
Your main tasks are:
Assisting with the care and maintenance of the cemetery grounds, various green spaces, as well as playgrounds and sports fields
Tree care and carrying out various plantings
Support in combating neophytes
Assisting in the implementation of sponge city measures and promoting biodiversity
Providing temporary support in other teams of the Operations Maintenance department
General support at festivals and cultural events in the community
Assisting with litter removal
Taking on weekend duties and winter service assignments
Assisting with the maintenance and care of equipment and machinery
For this position, you bring:
Completed training as a landscape gardener EFZ and preferably several years of professional experience in garden and landscape maintenance
Experience in the maintenance of green and sports facilities and ideally also a cemetery
Solid knowledge in tree care
Experience and, if applicable, corresponding training or further education in natural design and maintenance of green spaces (biodiversity)
If possible: interest in active fire service during the day shift of the Birsfelden fire department
Manual skills and good physical condition
Independence, sense of responsibility, interconnected thinking, as well as careful and efficient working methods
Driver's license category B (car), preferably BE (car with trailer)
Enjoyment of teamwork and customer-friendly interaction
Experience in training apprentices is an advantage
