Who are we?

The Swiss Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training EHB is the Swiss center of expertise for vocational education and training. We train and further educate vocational education professionals, research vocational education, develop professions, and support international vocational education cooperation. Our locations are in Zollikofen near Bern (headquarters), Lausanne, and Lugano, with external sites in Olten and Zurich.

For the Services division in Zollikofen, in the Facility Management area, we are looking for a

Caretaker in Facility Management 80 - 100%

Your area of responsibility

• Planning and control of service work, obtaining quotes for repair work, and collection of building and system documentation
• Ordering and storage of furniture, consumables, and cleaning materials
• Coordination of cleaning work, management of the external cleaning company
• Management of the locking system
• Management of waste disposal and recycling
• First intervention service during the day (no on-call duty) in case of fire alarm, burglary, and technical malfunctions, and participation in security including evacuations
• Assistance with internal moves and organization of large events
• Supervision of the maintenance and care of the outdoor area, landscaping work, garden maintenance, ice control, and snow removal
• Coordination and supervision of renovation and remodeling work
• Operation, monitoring, control, maintenance (inspection work), and regulation of technical facilities in the area of HVAC (heating, climate, ventilation, sanitary) and energy supply
• Ongoing maintenance of operational equipment (tools, machines, devices, etc.) as well as technical systems of the parking lot and vehicle maintenance

Your profile

• Completed training in a craft profession with experience as a caretaker or completed training as a caretaker with a Swiss federal certificate of competence
• Experience in maintenance, repair, and upkeep of buildings and systems
• Knowledge in the areas of electrical systems, heating and sanitary installations, ventilation, commercial refrigeration technology, and air conditioning technology
• Administrative skills with editorial proficiency (DE) and good MS Office knowledge
• Passive knowledge of a second official language (IT or FR)
• Driver's license class B
• Independent and responsible working style as well as organizational skills
• Flexible personality with a conscientious and independent working style as well as technical analytical and assertiveness skills
• Customer- and team-oriented behavior with a strong service mindset
