The employees of Digital Forensics are digital trace analysts who prepare digital evidence of all kinds as service providers for police investigators and evaluate data in a legally admissible manner. In addition, they support the investigators with their expertise.
For the Cybercrime service, we are looking for a
Your main tasks
- Analysis and preparation of seized digital evidence, mainly in mobile forensics in everyday work, case-related from digital traces from hard-to-access, proprietary or embedded systems, such as IoT, smart home, vehicles, and other electronic trace carriers
- Development and implementation of prototypes in the field of police special electronics
- Technical advice and support for police investigators and investigative authorities in technically complex cases
- Preparation of reports for investigative authorities
- Further development of work processes and analysis methods
- Provision of weekend and on-call service
Your profile
- Degree in electrical engineering and information technology (Bachelor or M.Sc.)
- Several years of professional experience in industrial electronics, its development, or embedded systems is an advantage
- Solid knowledge in circuit technology, bus systems (CAN, LIN, SPI, I²C, UART, etc.), as well as handling measuring technology
- Practical experience with soldering techniques (SMD/Rework), hardware debugging, or reverse engineering
- Interest in the field of digital forensics and willingness to familiarize yourself with forensic methods and legal frameworks
- Very good German and good English skills in spoken and written form
- Service-oriented, innovative, and creative
- Mental resilience and willingness to work irregular hours
