Company Description
The Official Youth Foundation (FOJ) aims to promote the psycho-social development of children, adolescents, and young people in difficulty, in collaboration with parents and partner institutions. Bound by a service contract with the State of Geneva, the FOJ is committed to the protection and defense of the interests of the child.
Serving families in the canton, it works through four main areas of action: child welfare , emergency reception , family support , and preparation for autonomy .
To fulfill its mission, the institution manages 47 structures across the Canton of Geneva, has more than 500 places for minors and young adults, and also offers outpatient educational services at home. The FOJ is composed of 670 employees.
To successfully carry out its mission, the FOJ is looking for a socio-educational assistant to support various early childhood institutions during awake nights, through the Replacement Service team.
Job Description
- Accompany babies and young children temporarily cared for outside their family environment during the night, prioritizing respect, socialization, listening, and creativity
- Provide basic care adapted to their needs (feeding, hygiene, safety)
- Perform household tasks
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
Irregular working hours including night shifts.
Activity rate: 60%
Start date: as soon as possible
Contract type: Fixed-term contract
Class: class 10, according to the salary scale of the State of Geneva

Qualifications
Training:
- Federal Certificate of Capacity (CFC) as socio-educational assistant.
Foreign diplomas must imperatively have SEFRI recognition or an official equivalence.
Experience:
Significant prior experience working with young children.
Professional skills:
Excellent knowledge of child development (0-5 years)
Flexibility and ability to adapt quickly
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work night shifts
Autonomy, team spirit, and initiative
Good writing skills in French.
Nationality / work permit:
Swiss nationality or valid work permit.
