The opportunity
Join our team as an Operational Buyer. You will be responsible for the efficient and effective procurement of goods and services necessary for our daily operations. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the continuous supply chain, optimizing costs, and maintaining strong supplier relationships to support Hitachi's business objectives.
How you'll make an impact

Process purchase requisitions and convert them into purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner

Manage the procurement lifecycle for assigned categories, including order placement, expediting, and dispute resolution

Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure timely delivery of materials and services

Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with planning teams to optimize stock and minimize obsolescence

Negotiate with suppliers on price, delivery, and terms to achieve cost savings and favorable conditions

Identify and onboard new suppliers, ensuring they meet Hitachi's quality, compliance, and ethical standards

Resolve issues related to supplier performance, quality discrepancies, and delivery delays

Maintain accurate procurement records, including supplier information, purchase orders, and contracts

Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement processes and systems
Your background
-
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field

2-4 years of experience in an operational buying or procurement role, preferably within a multinational or manufacturing environment

Strong understanding of procurement principles, supply chain processes, and inventory management

Proven negotiation skills with a track record of achieving cost savings and favorable terms

Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and relationship-building skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail

Fluency in English and German
