As part of the Education Directorate of the Canton of Zurich, the Office for Youth and Career Counseling is responsible for the services in the field of child and youth welfare as well as career counseling. Children, adolescents, and adults are at the center of our work. We dedicate ourselves to them daily with great passion and commitment. The biz Oerlikon is a cantonal competence center for career, study, and vocational counseling. We are looking for a career, study, and vocational counselor for specialized sports career and vocational counseling starting June 2026.
Your tasks
You are responsible for individual counseling of junior athletes or top athletes in career, study, and vocational counseling before or after their elite sports career. In addition, you organize and conduct events (e.g., class orientations, parent evenings, "Education and Elite Sports") for students. You actively network with various partners in the elite sports sector (sports schools, associations, sports office, etc.).
Your profile
You have a continuing education master's degree (MAS) in career, study, and vocational counseling (BSLB) or are close to completing this training. You also have extensive counseling experience; ideally in the elite sports sector. You are highly independent and fascinated by engaging as a contact person for the Sports Specialist Unit, as you are solely responsible for specialized sports career and vocational counseling for the entire Canton of Zurich. Against this background, you are a very efficient, customer- and service-oriented personality characterized by high counseling and presentation skills as well as solution orientation. You succeed in responding empathetically and in a differentiated manner to the concerns of those seeking advice and supporting them in their process with appropriate methods. Continuous reflection on your professional activity is a matter of course for you. You can ensure the target group-appropriate implementation of various events in the sports sector. You succeed in establishing and maintaining supportive relationships with clients and institutions around the sports sector and positioning yourself as an expert.
