JOB PURPOSE:
The main responsibility is to maintain the Hotel’s Payroll system to ensure timely payment of salaries in accordance with Four Seasons Hotels policies and procedures as well as applicable federal, state and local tax laws.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
People Functions:
Maintain harmonious and professional relationships with colleagues, supervisors and all departments.
Respect and enforce the Four Seasons Work Rules and Code of Conduct as defined in EmPact.
Maintain professional behavior at all times and ensure strict confidentiality of all payroll-related information.
Work on payroll discrepancies with the Staff Accountant/Assistant Director of Finance.
Review employee status changes with the human resources department to ensure correct data entry.
Assist the human resources department in managing leave accruals.
Provide assistance to other accounting office services as needed.
Product Functions:
Enter all data (outside the system) into Mirus only after obtaining necessary approvals.
Review, verify and process payroll data for payment preparation.
Review and reconcile payroll variances with Staff Accountant/Assistant Director of Finance.
Send payments to employees.
Keep and file all payroll documentation to prepare for audits.
Prepare exceptional advance requests during the month.
Assist in monthly closing processes, provisions and payroll journals.
Manage salary entries in accordance with local legislation.
Prepare and assist with special audits (AVS, LPP, others...).
Prepare reports requested by Finance and Human Resources departments.
Ensure the payroll register is reviewed and approved (with signature on the final page of the register) by the Chief Financial Officer or Assistant Chief Financial Officer before payroll funds are distributed.
Control upsell and incentive procedures.
Reconcile and prepare monthly incentive and upsell amounts.
Ensure compliance with labor law regarding overtime, remuneration and job classification (exempt/non-exempt).
Participate in meetings on tracking hours/overtime.
Perform any other tasks assigned by the Chief Financial Officer, Assistant Chief Financial Officer or Staff Accountant.
Profit Functions:
Review and verify payroll data to ensure correct salary payments.
Monitor employee data to avoid double or incorrect payments, and follow up with the Assistant Chief Financial Officer if reimbursements are necessary.
Prepare reports on work time management.
Ensure with the Staff Accountant /Assistant Director of Finance that payroll taxes are collected, paid and reported accurately and on time.

Only Swiss nationality, Swiss residency authorization or EU citizens will be considered.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Excellent reading, writing and oral skills in French and English.
2. Very good knowledge of computer tools.
3. Excellent written and oral communication skills to prepare and present reports and make effective presentations.
4. Operational technical knowledge of basic accounting principles, as well as the Swiss payroll system.
