To lead our team in the Operations and Situation Department, we are looking for a Head of Operations & Situation Department starting February 1, 2026 or by agreement. - Personnel and professional leadership of the Operations and Situation Department (24 FTE) with the attached services Situation Center, Operations Center, and ICT
- Ensuring the operational safety of systems and applications as well as developing, updating, and training on guidelines and processes for operational management and the interfaces between the Operations Center, Situation Center, ICT, command support, and the Winterthur City Command Staff
- Preparing strategic reports, situation assessments, and presentations as well as ensuring high content quality within the area of responsibility
- Consolidating all relevant information within the framework of the City Command Staff into a meaningful situational picture, developing crisis concepts, organizing events, and participating in committees such as the Cantonal Command Organization (KFO)
- Coordinating and planning assigned tasks in the preparedness and operations of the Winterthur City Command Staff
Your Profile
- University degree or higher technical school in a relevant field as well as several years of work and leadership experience in a blue-light organization in a comparable role
- Experience in staff work in blue-light organizations, ideally complemented by in-depth knowledge of situation management
- Initiative and independent personality with high professional and social competence
- Strong conceptual skills and networked working methods
- Technical flair with special interest in modern IT solutions and the use of artificial intelligence
