The Trademarks & Designs Division maintains the register and manages the registration procedure for all industrial property rights (patents, trademarks, and designs), examines 40,000 trademark or design registration applications annually, and evaluates 600 trademark disputes.

- Draft analyses and clarify complex cross-cutting issues related to trademark practice (mainly registration, opposition, or cancellation procedures for non-use)
- Monitor Swiss and European case law concerning absolute and relative grounds for exclusion of protection
- Support section heads and trademark experts by providing legal information and advising them on complex requests
- Deliver presentations internally and externally
- Independently handle complex national and international trademark registration applications both formally and substantively
- Independently draft complex formal and substantive decisions regarding opposition and cancellation for non-use
What makes your success
What makes your success
- You hold a law degree (bachelor's or master's) and have completed additional legal training (bar exam, doctorate in law, LL.M.)
- Your strengths include strong writing skills and the ability to express complex ideas simply and clearly, both in writing and orally
- You have a critical mind, demonstrate creativity, and show interest in writing and scientific research
- You have at least five years of experience in trademark law
- You are a native French or German speaker and have very good knowledge of the other language and very good knowledge of English
