Ensuring electricity in Switzerland

As an Application Specialist at Swissgrid, you ensure that our applications run smoothly – safely, stably, and efficiently. In this versatile role, you take responsibility for the operation, further development, and supplier management of our real-time and SCADA applications. You thus make an important contribution to the stability of our IT landscape. You are responsible for the following tasks:

• Ensuring trouble-free operation of the SCADA applications and coordinating support partners in case of disruptions
• Monitoring and optimizing application performance regarding availability, recoverability, performance, and costs
• Responsibility for operational supplier management as well as support with service contracts and external support services
• Ensuring application security against cyber threats
• Maintaining and updating operational documentation (manuals, instructions, diagrams, etc.)
• Supporting risk, incident, and problem management
• Contributing to the further development of applications including release management and testing
• Independently implementing technical tasks in transformation projects and supporting larger initiatives

For this role, we are looking for a responsible, analytical, and communicative team player with an independent and structured way of working. You are goal-oriented, hands-on, and have a strong sense of your customers’ needs. Furthermore, you bring the following:

• At least 2-3 years of experience in application lifecycle management with a focus on SCADA applications
• Good knowledge of IT security including cyber security as well as a good understanding of data and configuration management
• Good knowledge of ITIL processes, primarily IT service management
• Experience with capturing system requirements
• Very good German and English skills, French is an advantage
