The Office for Higher Education implements the educational policy mandates of the government and the Department of Education, Culture, and Environmental Protection for secondary schools and the tertiary level. The Department of Tertiary Education and Research includes the areas of universities and research institutes, higher vocational education, and continuing education.
In the Department of Tertiary Education and Research, we are looking for a research associate for tertiary education and research starting September 1, 2026, or by arrangement. You will support the department in the mentioned areas at the project staff level up to project management (depending on education and project work experience).

You will support the department in the mentioned areas at the project staff level up to project management (depending on education and project work experience).
Your area of responsibility
- Collaboration and support of the department management in implementing legislation and in creating and monitoring performance mandates for educational institutions in the tertiary sector
- Contact and information person for educational institutions regarding questions and information related to performance mandates
- Writing statements and decision-making bases for the office management, the department, and the government
- Participation in revisions of laws and regulations
- Collaboration in projects to implement government goals or development priorities
- Possibility to participate in representative bodies and working groups at the cantonal and federal levels
What we expect from you
- University degree (FH or University/ETH)
- Knowledge of the Swiss education and research sector at the tertiary level is an advantage
- Proficient in drafting official documents
- Independent and structured working style
- High communication and social skills
- Good knowledge of several cantonal languages is an advantage
