Associate Professor in Exercise and Environmental Physiology at ISSUL

The Faculty of Biology and Medicine (FBM) of the University of Lausanne is offering a position for an Associate Professor in Exercise and Environmental Physiology within the Institute of Sport Sciences (ISSUL)

Context
The Institute of Sport Sciences (ISSUL) is UNIL's main center for teaching and research in the interdisciplinary field of sport sciences. It brings together experts in humanities and social sciences (history, psychology, management, sociology) and life sciences (physiology, biomechanics, medicine, molecular biology) within the Olympic capital.
Mission
1. Research:
- Conduct independent and innovative world-class research in the field of exercise and environmental physiology (hypoxia, heat, gravity, etc.).
- Strengthen and complement current research and teaching programs in exercise physiology at ISSUL.
2. Teaching:
- Participate in ISSUL teaching at Bachelor and Master levels and supervise doctoral theses within the "Life Sciences" and "Sport" Doctoral Schools.
- Contribute to thesis supervision and committees/juries for MD, PhD, and MD-PhD theses, as well as doctoral programs.
- Organize and participate in internal and external seminars, workshops, and associated activities.
3. Administration - Management:
- Assume administrative tasks that may be assigned within the scope of duties, at the Institute, Faculty, University, and university coordination bodies levels.
- Contribute to the Governance of ISSUL.
Profile
- PhD or MD-PhD in sport sciences, exercise physiology, human physiology.
- Specialization/experience in exercise and environmental physiology (an asset).
- Academic knowledge and experience at the professorial level with proven research practice and ability to establish research programs likely to be supported by expert external funds and published in high-level international journals.
- Teaching skills at the professorial level with proven practice in basic physiology teaching.
- Advanced managerial skills (management of teams and diverse projects).
- Preference will be given to an open personality for communication and cooperation, capable of stimulating young colleagues.
- Good knowledge of French (mother tongue or minimum B2, ideally C1) or ability to acquire it quickly to be able to teach it.
