The Office for Penal Enforcement of the Security and Justice Department employs around 260 staff in various professional fields. The Saxerriet Correctional Facility is an open penal institution for men with a total of 135 places. It has differentiated enforcement concepts and a diverse range of workplaces.
For work in the health service, we are looking for a
Certified Nurse (limited to 1 year)
Workload: 60-100% (regular working hours from Monday to Friday during the day shift)
Workplace: 9465 Salez
What to expect
- Admission and discharge management, administrative tasks, nursing documentation
- Initial assessments of medical questions of inmates (illness, accidents, emergencies, etc.). Initiation and planning of corresponding medical treatments.
- Care and nursing of inmates in cases of illness
- Organization and planning of external consultations and hospital stays taking into account enforcement regulations
- Advice and training of inmates and staff on health care issues.
- Collaboration with specialist medical services and organization of medical visits
- Close cooperation with various internal and external specialist offices (social service, care, security service, kitchen, operations, closed transitional department, individual support program, physiotherapy)
What distinguishes you
- Training in the nursing field with several years of professional experience, preferably in the acute medical field and/or psychiatric field
- Communication skills, flexibility, resilience
- Positive attitude towards open penal enforcement as well as integrity in dealing with people in penal enforcement regardless of their offenses and cultures
- Willingness to work in a small team and to further develop the health service
- Solid IT skills
- Independent and responsible way of working
- Foreign language skills are desirable
