ICT Security Engineer (80 - 100 %)

The IT services of the city of Thun (IDT) are a central service provider for the city administration of Thun, the Thun public schools, and for third-party service recipients, such as regional municipalities. IDT currently supports and maintains approximately 4,300 workstations, 215 servers, 4,800 user accounts in the education network, and 800 user accounts in the administrative area.
 
We are looking for an immediate or agreed upon start for a

• Co-responsibility for the ICT security of the IT services of the city of Thun (strategy, engineering, operation, and risk management for cloud and on-premise infrastructure).
• Participation/support in the development of ISDS concepts.
• Conducting GAP analyses (e.g., for ISO 27001).
• Proactively identify vulnerabilities (risk analyses) in ICT security and conceptually prepare and present the necessary corrective and protective measures.
• Continuously critically question/review the concept, efficiency, and effectiveness (monitoring, alerting) of our existing ICT security systems and proactively conceptually prepare and present any necessary adjustments and policies.
• Participation in optimizing overall ICT security (firewall, antivirus, intrusion detection/prevention, NAC, router, switch, WLAN, server, client, peripherals).
• Design, preparation, and implementation of awareness security training with risk sensitization for all employees and customers of the city administration of Thun.
• Collaboration in ICT projects regarding information security (security sign-off).
• Analysis and handling of security incidents (security incident management and forensics).

• Preferably a higher degree in computer science (Bachelor or Master), supplemented by one or more further trainings in the field of ICT security (e.g., CAS Cyber Security Expert, CompTIA Security+, Cyber Security Specialist with federal certificate, CISSP, or ICT Security Expert with federal diploma).
• Solid professional experience in a similar role with proven know-how in the areas of security incident management, security defense/protection systems, and ISMS.
• Practical knowledge in the areas of Windows AD, Microsoft Windows Server, database technologies, virtualized application and system environments, web services, collaboration and communication platforms, cloud technologies (Azure, M365), authorization concepts, data protection, and data security.
• Several years of professional experience in network and ICT security, especially in the administration of complex firewall environments.
• Good knowledge of threats and attack methods in cyber attacks as well as tools and means to defend against them.
