About the job
The National Roads Department Area VI of the Civil Engineering Office of the Canton of St.Gallen makes a significant contribution to the safety of the national roads in the cantons of Glarus, Thurgau, and St.Gallen through its maintenance work. For this purpose, the area unit has four depots in Thal, Mels, Biäsche, and Oberbüren as well as two support points in St.Gallen and Müllheim.
For the Operations and Safety Equipment BSA area, we are looking for a
Head of BSA-ICT (m/f/d)
Workload: 100%
Workplace: St.Gallen
What to expect
- Leadership and further development of BSA-ICT as well as optimization of the entire ICT portfolio in a team of 4-5 ICT specialists
- Management of smaller ICT renovations and system renewals
- Support and accompaniment of larger restructuring projects (UplaNS) in the areas of networks, virtual server environments, communication and control systems
- Implementation and further development of IT/OT security concepts and security policies
- 2nd-level support for control, communication, and network systems
What distinguishes you
- Technical basic training, ideally IT specialist EFZ
- Higher education (HF/FH) and solid experience in ICT
- Experience in staff management and project management
- In-depth knowledge of communication systems, complex networks
(MPLS, VRF, Multicast, QoS, Firewall, etc.) as well as virtualization (VMware, Linux servers)
- Very good knowledge of modern IT tools
- Independent, proactive, and communicative working style
- High flexibility and resilience as well as a strong quality and safety awareness
