Specialist Residence 80 - 100%The Migration Office of the Canton of Zurich operates daily in the exciting political environment of all migration issues and the resulting tasks. It is responsible for the enforcement of Swiss foreigner and asylum law, the agreement on the free movement of persons between Switzerland and the EU and EFTA states, as well as the Schengen and Dublin agreements.
For the Residence/AIG department, we are looking for a specialist 80 - 100% starting May 1, 2026, or by arrangement.
You are specifically responsible, within the framework of the applicable provisions of the Foreigners and Integration Act (AIG), for the independent processing of applications for the issuance of foreigner permits as well as residence-terminating measures. You review the documents of the applicants, draft decisions, and handle various correspondence. You appreciate written contact with applicants, their legal representatives, and authorities from the federal government, cantons, and municipalities in German.
For this demanding and versatile task, we require at least a commercial apprenticeship (commercial clerk EFZ) and several years of professional experience or a completed bachelor's degree. You are skilled in written expression and have an interest in legal issues as well as in the structured and precise drafting of complex decisions. In addition, you convince through decisiveness, flexibility, resilience, and high commitment. Appreciative and open communication, a sense of collegial cooperation, and a touch of humor complete your profile. You also possess Swiss citizenship.
