Flow and Organization Engineer M/F at 80%-100%
The Riviera-Chablais Hospital, Vaud-Valais (HRC), is an inter-cantonal reference hospital, bringing together more than 2,000 collaborators. The Rennaz Hospital Center has more than 350 acute care beds. It is complemented by two Geriatrics and Rehabilitation Clinics as well as two medical on-call services. The Organizational Development Directorate's mission is to lead institutional projects, optimize organization and flows, and strengthen quality and patient experience within the Riviera-Chablais Hospital.
Composed of experts in project management, organizational engineering, continuous improvement, and quality management, it supports teams in implementing concrete solutions to improve operational performance and the patient journey.

To complement the Organizational Development Directorate (ODD), we are looking for a: Flow and Organization Engineer
The main missions of this position are
- Listen to business needs and analyze field data to conduct flow studies and organizational diagnostics in various areas such as optimizing organizations and processes, proper resource allocation, and continuous improvement.
- Deploy and lead projects and continuous improvement initiatives on the ground, mobilizing multidisciplinary teams to identify problems and their causes, co-construct solutions, and ensure their operational implementation.
- Ensure the integration of projects and continuous improvement initiatives into the institution's value chain (organizational, technological, and cultural dimensions), and actively contribute to the realization of the strategic plan.
- Contribute to the implementation and evolution of performance and quality management systems by developing relevant indicators for monitoring flows, capacities, and efficiency, in connection with management and operational teams.
- Develop and apply flow and organization engineering methodologies (lean six sigma, advanced statistics, data science, simulation, etc.) to solve complex scheduling, capacity sizing, and resource optimization problems.
Depending on the level of expertise:
- Lead large-scale optimization projects with a high strategic level and multiple interdependencies.
- Support, supervise, and coach colleagues in using flow engineering, lean, and management system tools.
According to institutional priorities, you may contribute to major projects such as optimizing emergency flows, improving operating room efficiency, hospital capacity planning, optimizing patient pathways, and deploying continuous improvement methods within the institution.
We require
Education & certifications
- Master's degree (HES / University / EPF) in engineering, management, or an equivalent discipline
- Certification in continuous improvement / quality (Lean Six Sigma Green Belt minimum)
- Additional training in Business Analysis or project management is a sought-after asset
Experience
- Proven experience (≥ 5 years) in managing organizational projects and process modeling
- Experience in the hospital environment or a highly regulated complex environment
- Knowledge of the hospital environment, the functioning of healthcare institutions, and patient pathways (an asset)
Skills & know-how
- Mastery of engineering and continuous improvement methods (Lean Six Sigma)
- Ability to model, analyze, and optimize organizations, processes, and resources
- Skills in applied statistics, modeling, and/or data science
- Ability to develop and use performance indicators and dashboards (Flow and capacity management)
- Knowledge of hospital information systems (EHR, RIS/PACS, ERP, data warehouse): a plus
- Knowledge of modeling tools (Visio, Bizagi, Camunda or equivalents)
- Basics in data analysis (SQL, Python, R): appreciated asset
Interpersonal & behavioral skills
- Strong analytical, synthesis, and communication skills to support decision-making
- Influential leadership, ability to mobilize multidisciplinary teams without hierarchical ties
- Diplomacy, relational intelligence, and facilitator posture
- Rigor, organization, solution orientation, and pragmatism
Languages
- Excellent command of French, spoken and written (required)
- Knowledge of English (minimum B1 level)
