Lab Engineer - Motion components
We at VAT Group AG, headquartered in Switzerland, invite a both talented and passionate Lab Engineer to join our SEMI (Semiconductor ) BU - one of our most valued Business Units. This particular Lab Engineer role is created for our Motion Components Unit / R&D within the SEMI.
You will be responsible for the execution, development, and continuous improvement of test activities supporting R&D projects. You will work closely with development, design, and quality teams to validate motion-related components and systems used in advanced semiconductor vacuum solutions.

YOUR CHALLENGES

Take responsibility for the planning, setup, and execution of tests for motion components, with a strong focus on pneumatic drives, actuators, and mechanical assemblies

Design, develop, and implement new test setups and test methods to evaluate functionality, performance, lifetime, and reliability
-
Perform verification and validation testing in accordance with internal standards as well as customer and industry requirements

Analyze, evaluate, and document test results, including the derivation of improvement actions

Work closely with design, development, and quality teams to support product optimization
-
Support failure analysis and root cause investigations
-
Maintain, improve, and further develop laboratory infrastructure, test rigs, and measurement systems

Prepare technical reports, test documentation, and presentations
YOUR COMPETENCIES
-
Completed technical education or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable field
-
Experience in testing mechanical, pneumatic drives and mechatronic components, preferably in a high-tech or semiconductor environment

Experience in test bench design and handling of measurement and test equipment, mechanical build of sensor jigs

Knowledge in Beckhoff programming and build desired

Structured, analytical, and independent working style

Strong documentation and communication skills

Team-oriented, proactive, and hands-on mindset

Fluent in English, German preferred
