Your Tasks
For the position of Head of the HSG Merchandising Shop at the University of St.Gallen, we are looking for a creative, entrepreneurial personality with excellent communication skills. In this role, you will be responsible for all business processes, from innovative product development, pricing, and logistics to annual reporting with responsibility for a positive business result. Together with your student team (3 to 5 people), you will independently run the HSG Shop on campus and the online shop .
- As a pronounced networker, you seek contact with all internal and external stakeholders and ensure smooth collaboration.
- You develop ideas, in coordination with the department "Communication and Brand", to strengthen and expand the visibility of the HSG brand.
- With two company representatives, HSG Alumni and the University of St.Gallen, you discuss strategic development and are responsible for implementing the strategy.
- A steering committee advises you on business results and future planning.
Your Profile
Experience in Retail and Merchandising
Practical experience in retail, ideally in fashion, lifestyle, or branded goods. Solid knowledge in product presentation, assortment design, and visual merchandising. Experience with e-commerce and inventory management.
Team Leadership and Personnel Management
Leadership experience including motivation, development, and deployment planning. Recruitment and onboarding of student employees as well as building a deputy.
Marketing and Brand Competence
Solid know-how in strategic marketing, especially brand management and positioning for the authentic representation of HSG. Planning and implementation of creative marketing campaigns and communication measures.
Business Management Control
Experience in budget planning, revenue control, and controlling. Analysis of market trends and target groups for assortment and sales optimization.
Process and Project Management
Control and optimization of processes in logistics and inventory management. Implementation of special projects such as digitization or assortment/location expansions.
Communication and Negotiation Skills
Confident in dealing with suppliers, partners, and internal stakeholders. Ability for integrated communication to involve the HSG community and externally position the brand.
Technical Understanding & Quality Orientation
Proficient in using digital tools (online shop, social media). High affinity for quality, design, and visual aesthetics.
