About us:
Daedalean is a Zürich-based startup founded by experienced engineers who want to completely revolutionize air travel within the next decade. We combine computer vision, deep learning, and robotics to develop full “level-5” autonomy for flying vehicles.
Your role:
To facilitate the integration of additional sensors (such as radar or lidar) into Daedalean's various systems, going beyond purely camera-based environment perception in order to make them more accurate, more reliable, and employable in an even wider range of environmental conditions.

- Research, analyze, and select sensors suitable for our products and applications.
- Prepare raw sensor data for fusion, including tasks like data alignment, synchronization, calibration, noise reduction, and handling outliers to ensure data compatibility and quality.
- Design and implement algorithms that integrate data from diverse sensor modalities (e.g., cameras, lidar, radar, IMUs, GPS) to create a unified and robust perception of the surroundings. This may involve techniques from data fusion, signal processing, and machine learning.
- Collaborate with hardware and software teams to integrate sensors and sensor fusion algorithms into our prototypes and products.
- Test new sensors and validate sensor fusion algorithms in both simulated environments and real-world scenarios to ensure accuracy, reliability, and safety.
- At least 2 years hands-on working experience with at least two of the following sensor types: radar, lidar, cameras.
- In-depth knowledge of various sensor types (lidar, radar, cameras, IMUs, GPS), their operating principles, strengths, weaknesses, and data characteristics.
- Good programming skills in C++.
- Experience with sensor fusion algorithms.
- Master’s in Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- A team of experienced engineers and researchers, who joined us from most recognized companies and institutions.
