Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and employs around 1,400 staff with diverse professional profiles. JuWe is responsible for criminal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For JuWe employees, the successful social reintegration of offenders and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance.
The Uitikon Measures Center (MZU) is the socio-pedagogical-therapeutic competence center of JuWe for the criminal and measure enforcement of juvenile and young adult offenders.
For our closed department, we are looking for a committed, innovative, and open personality as a trainer in the carpentry workshop, starting immediately or by arrangement.
This is your area of responsibility
- In this position, you are responsible for the practical vocational training and individual support of several young offenders
- You independently and proactively plan and organize work preparations
- Through targeted pedagogical guidance, you promote the professional and social skills of the youths
- You actively accompany the young offenders in the career choice process and support them in their professional orientation
- You regularly evaluate the youths' work through weekly and monthly assessments
- You write meaningful progress reports to document the development process
- Additionally, you work on diverse customer orders and actively contribute your professional skills and experience
This is what you bring with you
- A completed apprenticeship as a carpenter EFZ forms the basis of your professional qualification
- You have the SVEB training or are willing to complete it promptly
- Several years of professional experience in a carpentry workshop distinguish you
- You already have experience in training and supervising apprentices
- Your German skills are confident and fluent – both spoken and written
- You are confident in using MS Office applications
- You are physically and mentally resilient and keep an overview even in challenging situations
- Communication skills and social competence are among your personal strengths
- You have a positive attitude towards juvenile and young adult offenders
- Your reputation is impeccable and you are at least 28 years old
