Our campus is located just 10 km from Zurich's old town, in the idyllic Zumikon, surrounded by nature yet close to the city center.

We are looking for a reliable, proactive, and service-oriented individual as Assistant Caretaker / Janitor to strengthen our Facilities & Operations team.

In this role, you help ensure that our school grounds remain safe, well-maintained, and operational.

Your work directly impacts the daily life of students, staff, and visitors – you make a significant contribution to a welcoming and well-functioning school environment.

Your tasks

Campus maintenance & upkeep

• Ensure that buildings, outdoor areas, and the campus are clean, safe, and inviting daily.
• Carry out minor repairs, simple maintenance tasks, and seasonal duties.
• Support ecological waste and recycling management as well as the care of green spaces.

Safety & operations

• Regular inspections to monitor facilities and address issues early.
• Operation of tools, equipment, and facility management systems.
• Participation in winter services early in the morning during snow and ice.

Event & community support

• Preparation and setup of rooms, furniture, and materials for school events.
• Support logistics and cleanup after events – occasionally on weekends.

Flexibility in the role

• Working hours mainly from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm for afternoon and evening campus supervision.
• Willingness for on-call duties during unexpected disruptions or to support the team.
• Assistance with traffic control during busy school times.

Your profile

• Experience in building maintenance, facility management, or green space care.
• Practical skills in repairs, safe tool handling, and problem-solving.
• Reliable, service-oriented personality with an independent work style and team spirit.
• Physically resilient for manual work indoors and outdoors.
• Communication skills in German and English.
• Residence near the school is an advantage (winter service / on-call duty).
• Valid work permit for Switzerland or authorization to take up employment.
