Your team
The Corporate Functions division groups the non-banking activities of the Pictet group and has more than 600 employees. Managed by specialists who have a thorough knowledge of all business lines, the central functions are divided into various departments: Internal Audit, Communication, Compliance, Corporate Office, Finance, Tax, Legal, Human Resources, Risk and Information Security.
The mission of the Group Tax department, based in Geneva, is to manage the Group's tax function in accordance with existing and future laws and regulations, implementing an appropriate risk control framework and proactive tax management to protect the Group's reputation, provide our clients with a tax-efficient experience, and maintain fair relationships with tax authorities.
Within this department, you will be the person responsible for indirect taxes of the Pictet group and will advise Group employees and various affiliated companies on issues related to indirect taxes, in connection with banking operations and asset management (institutional clients and investment funds).
Your role
- Be responsible for the indirect taxes (VAT/GST) of the Pictet group.
- Provide advice and assistance on various aspects of Swiss and international VAT (including EU), including:
- VAT in the banking and financial sector,
- VAT applicable to the management and administration of investment funds,
- VAT regulations and obligations at national and international levels.
- Supervise compliance with VAT regulations and the Group's VAT returns.
- Conduct VAT audits and make recommendations based on findings.
- Assess VAT-related risks and design risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate VAT aspects into internal processes.
- Participate in the development and updating of the Group's VAT policies and procedures.
- Monitor changes in VAT laws and regulations and inform relevant stakeholders of pertinent changes.
Your profile
- University degree in law, economics, or taxation.
- At least 10 years of experience in the field of VAT, with a specialization in financial VAT.
- Experience gained within a law firm or one of the Big Four consulting firms: an asset.
- Proficiency in common MS Office applications.
- Fluency in French and English is essential; knowledge of German is a plus.
