The Secondary and Vocational Education Office of the Canton of Zurich (MBA) is committed to the interests of youth, politics, and business for the cantonal secondary and vocational schools, providers of preparatory vocational years, and training companies. As a customer-oriented service provider, the "Digital" department, in collaboration with various internal and external partners, ensures a contemporary IT service. Currently, the future school administration solution is being developed as part of the major project "Kolibri." To strengthen the Kolibri project team, we are looking for an IT Architect with a workload of 80-100% starting December 1, 2025, or by agreement. The position is limited until May 31, 2031.

Your area of responsibility
With the organizational project Kolibri, the Secondary and Vocational Education Office aims to replace the three existing school administration systems of around 44 schools and to standardize the processes. With over 70,000 education participants, this IT major project is of strategic importance. You are responsible for the further development and maintenance of the IT architecture of the Kolibri project. You develop architecture roadmaps and coordinate planning, ensure the harmonization and standardization of IT systems and processes, and are responsible for defining, introducing, and ensuring architecture principles and quality standards. Furthermore, you create well-founded decision bases, prepared appropriately for different levels, enabling decision-makers at various levels to make informed decisions.
Your profile
You have a completed degree in computer science, business informatics, or a comparable qualification and bring several years of experience in IT architecture. Furthermore, you possess the ability to define and analyze complex IT landscapes in a structured manner and derive well-founded decisions. You are a responsible person, convincing with analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, and able to quickly grasp complex data structures. Your working style is systematic and solution-oriented. Collaboration in interdisciplinary teams is an enrichment for you. Good oral and written communication skills complete your profile.
