Equinix is recruiting an HVAC Maintenance Technician for its site based in Geneva
As an HVAC Maintenance Technician, your main mission will be to operate, manage, perform repair and maintenance tasks on Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, critical and non-critical power systems, plumbing, electricity, fire fighting devices, roofing, exterior parts of the site, and provide support to suppliers for all related matters.
Responsibilities
Operation, Maintenance and Service Continuity
- Perform daily technical checks and diagnostics of infrastructure equipment, take precautionary measures, perform emergency corrective operations, and call in competent contractors if necessary
- Perform preventive maintenance of equipment on the campus sites to which you are attached
- Perform electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic lockouts
- Ensure the setup and supervision of external companies, verification of their qualifications, methods, and tools
- Define, establish, maintain, and inventory stocks of critical spare parts
- Participate in repair and corrective maintenance operations
- Detect malfunctions, develop a diagnosis
- Write intervention reports to ensure follow-up of operations (CMMS)
- Ensure the transmission of information to the Campus Facilities Manager
- Understand and apply control and test rules and procedures
- Propose technical and energy improvements
Reporting
- Produce and/or ensure the reliability and punctuality of all reports requested by management, the Group, and the rest of the Equinix France teams
- Contribute to defining relevant indicators for activity management and reporting
Required Training
- Training in Climate Engineering / Industrial Maintenance
Skills
- Proven experience as a technician in electricity or climate engineering, ideally in a similar environment such as data centers
- Knowledge of maintenance imperatives in industrial and tertiary environments
- Technical versatility
- Ability to interact in English with clients, both written and spoken

Working hours

Job Summary

Responsibilities
Facility/Infrastructure Maintenance
Performs semi-routine preventative maintence checks on-site to non-critical, facility components
Performs semi-routine repairs, maintenance and installations to non-critical facility components
Monitors the Builiding Monitoring System (BMS) and responds timely to semi-routine alarms according to standard operating procedures
Assists more senior staff in higher facility repairs and corrective maintenance measures
Operates plumbing, fire suppression, and safety systems, under the supervision of more senior technical staff
Normally follows established procedures on routine work, requires instructions only on new assignments
Vendor Support
Coordinates with vendors to ensure maintenance activities are carried out as per Equinix's requirements
Supports the work order approval process for service providers on routine maintenance work, for tracking: briefing at the start of work, work during the day workday/shift and final review of the work carried out
Ensures vendor maintenance activities are carried out as per Equinix's standard operating procedures
Site Administration & Incident Support
Performs semi-routine site logs for permits, such as Maintenance Operation Protocol (MOPs) and scripts
Uses acquired job skills in following operating procedures to support on-site administration
Work Orders & Additional Projects
Completes semi-routine work requests and circuit installations
Follows established procedures with troubleshooting and maintaining office equipment (if necessary); supports auxiliary equipment and machines
Assists more senior staff with responding on-site incidents and acts as directed
Collaboration
Collaborates with others to resolve semi-routine facility incidents
Provides assistance to more senior staff on infrastructure projects
Informs stakeholders of inventory needs to maintain stock levels of parts and equipment
Qualifications
Typical Degree & Years of Experience
Typically requires a high school diploma and proven years of equivalent work experience
