We are looking for a research associate in the field of resource economics. If you would like to contribute to research and teaching on sustainability transformation as part of an interdisciplinary team of passionate researchers and lecturers, we look forward to receiving your application by April 30, 2026.
Department: Life Sciences and Facility Management
Start of work: 01.05.2026 or by arrangement (limited until 31.01.2029)
- You will take over the management and implementation of research projects in the field of environmental governance, including the recently approved Biodiversa+ project ActSustainably on the sustainable use of grassland ecosystems in Eurasia.
- You develop innovative approaches to environmental governance and test them through field research and in collaboration with various stakeholder groups.
- You actively contribute your expertise in game-theoretical approaches, deliberative participation, and economic experiments to interdisciplinary projects.
- You produce policy-relevant research results, present them at international conferences, and write scientific publications.
- You participate in teaching (individual days or weeks in courses) and supervise and evaluate bachelor’s and master’s theses in your research area.
- You have a university degree and a doctorate in social sciences.
- You work analytically, structured, and precisely and have very good communication skills.
- You are very familiar with participatory approaches to field research and have extensive expertise and experience in the application of game-theoretical approaches.
- You have very good knowledge of econometric approaches.
- You are fluent in German and English, both spoken and written.
