- Anticipatory instrument handling during operations and close collaboration with surgeons, possibly assisting in various procedures
- Planning and organizing the surgical workflows
- Responsibility for the correct and targeted use of surgery-specific devices, equipment, materials, as well as their control
- Monitoring and implementation of hygiene measures, cleaning and sterilization of instruments
- Careful support of patients regarding safety and well-being
