The Department of Social Sciences, Seminar for Sociology, is looking for a scientific assistant (PhD level) for the Chair of Social Structure Analysis starting January 1, 2026.
Your tasks
- Collaboration on research projects and scientific further qualification in sociology (PhD)
- Independent teaching (2 semester hours) and support in student advising
- Organizational support of the chair
- Participation in university self-administration
- Assistance in acquiring (international) research projects
Your profile
- Above-average master's degree, relevant publications in the fields of political sociology
- Already some relevant publications in the fields of critical social theory/political sociology
- Strong interest in critical theory
- Solid knowledge in empirical social research, especially experience with qualitative methods. Knowledge of quantitative methods is an advantage.
- A high degree of independence and ability to work in a team
- Very good language skills and communication abilities in German and English
