Your tasks:
- Ensuring compliance with customs and foreign trade regulations for Switzerland & EU
- Checking and processing import and export customs declarations using CH-Passar, EDEC, and ATLAS
- Classification of goods using HS/customs tariff numbers, ECCN, and maintaining master data in SAP
- Application of free trade and preferential agreements, preparation and verification of certificates of origin, supplier declarations, and EUR.1
- Support and management of customs procedures, e.g., EU customs clearance, collective customs procedures, as well as authorizations such as Authorized Exporter and AEO status
- Support during audits by authorities (e.g., Chamber of Commerce, Customs) as well as internal controls
- Processing export permits in cooperation with the responsible authorities (BAFA, SECO)
- Evaluation of dual-use products and ensuring compliance with export control regulations
- Origin issues and preference calculations for international locations
- Identification of process improvements to increase efficiency and compliance
Your profile:
- At least 6 years of professional experience in customs or foreign trade functions in an international industrial or trading company (an absolute must-have criterion)
- Very good knowledge of Swiss and EU customs regulations, the goods control ordinance, and foreign trade law
- Solid experience in goods classification as well as ensuring and documenting preferential origin rules
- Familiar with international customs regulations in the USA and Asia, especially in China, Korea, Japan, and Taiwan
- Knowledge of customs duties, import turnover tax, and VAT issues
- Confident handling of customs systems (Passar, ATLAS, EDEC) as well as SAP
- Analytical, structured, and reliable working style with high attention to detail
- Very good German and English skills, additional languages are an advantage
