Specialist Assignment and Accommodation 80 - 100%The Cantonal Social Office with over 280 employees takes on diverse, controlling and operational tasks mainly in social assistance, social insurance, social services and in the asylum sector at the interface between the federal government, other cantons, cities, municipalities and various private organizations. It also runs its own facility, tilia, based in Rheinau.
For the Asylum Coordination Department, we are looking for two specialists for assignment and accommodation at 80 to 100% starting April 1, 2026 or by arrangement.
Your main tasks
- You are responsible for the comprehensive assignments of refugees from the federal asylum centers to the cantonal transit centers and from there to the municipalities.
- You review and process support applications, change notifications and other administrative reports.
- You independently answer complex questions from internal and external stakeholders, conduct in-depth clarifications in individual cases and advise asylum seekers at the counter.
- You perform special tasks such as quantitative surveys for statistics or develop and document processes.
- If suitable, there is the possibility to represent the team leader during their absence.
Your skills and talents
- You have completed a commercial apprenticeship as well as further training as a federally certified migration specialist and already have experience in the asylum/migration field
- You communicate actively and enjoy direct exchange at the counter or by phone and have solid MS Office skills, especially Excel
- You accompany a commercial apprentice in everyday professional life in the role of practical trainer and already have the corresponding certificate or are willing to obtain it during employment.
- You are an administrative and organizational talent who quickly finds their way in changing conditions and new areas of responsibility
- You enjoy working independently and are interested in complex political issues
- You have very good oral and written German skills (at least B2) and speak English. Knowledge of languages spoken by the current refugee groups is an advantage.
