PH Zurich actively shapes education, school, and teaching of today and tomorrow in teaching and research. The Primary Level Department is responsible for the training of primary school teachers. It currently offers three bachelor's degree programs as well as subject and level extensions that impart fundamental competencies for teaching at the primary level.
The compulsory subject Mathematics represents a central focus in the training of future primary school teachers in all primary level degree programs. Within the Primary Level Department, the Mathematics area is responsible for the professional and subject-didactic training and further education of (future) teachers. The committed Mathematics team currently employs 14 staff members. Together, they continuously develop teaching and deliver it at a high level.

This is what you will do.
- Personnel, professional, and organizational management of the Mathematics Primary Level area, representation in the extended department management
- Responsibility for the Mathematics curriculum of the primary level delegated by the department management
- Networking and close cooperation with other performance areas of PHZH
- Lecturer in initial and continuing education with a focus on mathematics didactics
- Proactive engagement in subject development as well as the subject group Didactics of Mathematics and Computer Science
- Representation of the subject Mathematics in national and international subject and educational discourses
This is what you bring with you.
- University degree in mathematics didactics or mathematics (or comparable qualification)
- PhD, MAS or second consecutive master's degree
- Proven teaching experience at tertiary level
- Teaching diploma for primary school and several years of teaching experience
- Conceptual, planning, and organizational skills in the context of PHZH and contemporary teacher education
- Very good knowledge of the structures of the Swiss education system and the Swiss higher education landscape
