Head of Department Advocacy and Communication, Member of the Executive Board 80% - 100% (m/f/d)
Your workplace is in the city of Bern, home office possible. You will take over the professional, organizational, and personnel management of the Department of Advocacy and Communication. This currently includes the departments of Advocacy and Awareness, Fundraising, Marketing and Communication, as well as Technology and Innovation with around 30 employees.
Your tasks
- You are responsible for the professional, organizational, and personnel leadership of this department with budget, results, and resource responsibility
- You bear the overall operational responsibility for the department and further develop it together with the employees
- You manage training & awareness, advocacy, and political campaigns
- You represent the association as a media spokesperson
- You coordinate and monitor topics and projects of the department and work constructively with the other departments
- You strive to promote digital development and the use of new technologies
Your profile
- You have several years of leadership and management experience, ideally in an association or NPO environment
- You have education and/or further training at the tertiary level relevant to the area of responsibility
- You have experience in political work, advocacy, and campaign management
- You have good political networks
- You preferably bring legal knowledge, especially in social insurance and disability equality law
- You are an entrepreneurial and flexible personality, combined with healthy assertiveness and high social competence
- Your very good communication skills and negotiation skills distinguish you
- You appear confident towards media and the public
- As a member of the executive board, you can imagine a long-term commitment in a complex environment, and performance orientation and non-profit work are compatible for you
- You have very good German or French skills with very good knowledge of the other language, good English skills
- A good understanding of the needs of blind and visually impaired people is self-evident for you
