To strengthen cooperation with the partner institutions Eawag and Agroscope in the field of "sustainable water management in agriculture," we are looking for a 1 July 2026 or by agreement for an initial period of 2 years a
You promote and coordinate research collaboration between Agroscope, WSL, and Eawag researchers in the field of "water management in agriculture." You create an overview of ongoing research and current research needs, maintain active information exchange on this topic among researchers, and inform the management about the related progress. You develop research perspectives for the above-mentioned topic area. For this, you lead the preparation of a comprehensive state-of-the-art publication and coordinate the development of a funding application for a joint large project/program. Together with other researchers, you organize a scientific conference or a joint contribution to a conference on agriculture and water management. Additionally, you develop a joint web presence for the three institutions to provide information about activities and the topic area.
For this role, you bring a completed doctoral thesis in a research field related to sustainable water management and/or agriculture. Ideally, you are already familiar with current challenges in agriculture regarding water management in the context of climate change and know the relevant Swiss research institutions and networks. The topic "sustainable water management in agriculture" is very important to you. Proactive communication with WSL, Eawag, and Agroscope researchers is central to this position, as is flexible work at the three locations (Birmensdorf, Dübendorf, and Reckenholz/Affoltern ZH). Good knowledge of German and English, and ideally also French, is expected.
