Tasks
Ideally, the successful candidates will spend the first year participating in the Swiss Program for Beginning Doctoral Students in Economics in Gerzensee before writing their dissertations in macroeconomics/monetary economics.
We anticipate employment levels of 75% - 100% and expect commitment to high quality research; interest in questions related to macroeconomics/monetary economics; and the willingness to support teaching (BA, MA level) or other academic activities. The positions are funded by a Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF) grant for a project entitled "Money and Debt in the 21st Century: Liquidity, Safety, Redistribution."
Requirements
Candidates are expected to have an excellent master's degree in economics or are about to complete it. They should be interested in monetary economics, macroeconomics or international economics. They should also have a very good prior knowledge of methods of empirical economic analysis and econometric software packages.
