Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our team of around 1,700 people worldwide to help us power up the traveller's journey for millions of holidaymakers. What your impact will be:
- Architect & Build: Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines and architectures on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Innovate: Champion new approaches and technologies, leveraging AI to optimize data processes and generate deeper insights.
- Collaborate: Partner closely with internal and business stakeholders to understand their data needs, translating requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Prioritize: Manage competing demands and strategically prioritize projects to deliver maximum business value.
- Ensure Quality: Guarantee the performance, reliability, and scalability of our data systems through rigorous testing and maintenance.
Qualifications
Your expertise :
- Experience: At least 6 years of experience as a data engineer, with a proven track record of building and maintaining production-grade data systems.
- Cloud Expertise: Strong knowledge of SQL and hands-on experience with cloud-based Big Data platforms like Google BigQuery.
- ETL/ELT: Expertise in data modeling and developing and maintaining data transformation pipelines using tools like dbt.
- Orchestration: Experience with workflow management engines such as Airflow.
- Automatization: Use Terraform/AWS CloudFormation to manage and automate the provisioning and configuration of cloud infrastructure.
- Programming: Proficiency in at least one programming language, with a strong preference for Python.
- Communication: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable :
Visualization: Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Qlik, Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.
Extract and Process: Develop and implement solutions to scrape and extract data from various sources and transform it into a usable format.
Domain Knowledge: Previous experience in the travel, digital, or e-commerce industries.
Analytical Skills: A strong understanding of data analysis principles and how to apply them to improve business outcomes.
